Skinning

After finishing the control , all i had to do was do the skinning. But after doing the skinning , i had to paint all the joints because the vertices vere controlled by more than one joint 
so i had to paint every area for every joint

Blend-shapes

For the movement of the mouth and the eyes , what I did was blend-shape. I copied the mesh of Captain Atom and made his eyes closed and mouth open by moving the vertices. Then I bind-shaped the copied mesh to the original one

Doing the controls


 After finishing the whole skeleton,it was time to start doing the controls. Basically what did was connect the ankle joint to the him joint for the legs, and the wrist joint to the shoulder joint.Then i created controlers , which were nerbs , and then i constrained them with the ik handles so when they move the ik handles move as well. For the fingers I added atributes to the controller , and then i used set driven keys to make them move. For the eyebrows i did the same





New Rig - Captain Atom

After doing the rig for the car, we were given a human body.The first thing that we had to do , was creating the bones or joints if you want. We started from the legs and moved our way up to the spine , then clavicles and arms and then the head.For the legs we crated one joint for the hip, one joint for the knee, and from the ankle to the toe we made 3 joints. For the spine we created a total of 8 joints from bottom to the top. That way the spine would be more flexible and have more movement, when we do the controls.For the head I did one for the lower neck one for mid neck one for the jaw and some for the eyebrows

Control the whole car

Afther finishing the other controls,I made a control that will move and rotate the whole car and all of its controls .
 I have also coloured all of the controls and limited their transformation.

Set Driven Key

 For the rear lights i created a set driven key. Firstly i created another attribute for the control which would control the lights. then i created a set driven key and added the control as a driver and both of the lights as driven. Then I keyed the lights with the visibility off when the number in the new attribute of the control was 0 . Then i did the oposite by turning them on , changing the value to 1 and then keying them again



Expression

 For the light to work , I used an expression. Basically, I created a control and limited his movement only in one of the axes. then I created the expression so when it translates in the X axes the lights will turn their visibility  either on or off.
I tried doing an expression with the front and the back of the car , making them go up and down like a suspension but I really couldn't do it so instead of that I made the expression with the lights. Sorry

Door and Window

 After doing the bonnet and the back , I made the doors open , and the window open as well. I made an orient constrain for the controls of the car and limited them as in the other parts.Then i created another group for the window in the group for the doors, so the window can move up and down without being influenced by the movement of the door.







Bonnet and Boot

Here you  can see the front bonnet and the back boot open. I made them open and close by constraining controls to them. I moved the pivot point on the bonnet in the front middle of it so it opens like that . and moved the pivot point on the back boot to the right left vert. i dont think it matter if its the left or right one , it just needs to be on the back of the boot.I have limited the transformation on them as well . so they open and close to a certain point and dont go berzerk spining 360 degrees

Wheels Suspension

 


After I made the wheels turn and spin properly , I made the suspension for the wheels. Basicly  what I had to do was made a controller for every wheel , put it beneath it and point constrained it so it will go up and down. I limited the movement so it will only go up and down to a curtain point.

Starting to Rig

 Week 1

When we started rigging , we were given a model of a mercedes car and we had to name every part of the car and group them properly.
Aftet finishing that , the first thing that we rigged was the wheels . We had to make all of them spin , and the two front turn as well. I created a control for the wheels to turn and orient constrained to both wheels on the front. Then i did the same with other controls for the wheels to spin. I had to put the front wheels in a sub group so they will turn and spin without a probelm.
